How much extra flooring should I order for waste?
For a standard straight plank layout, order 5% to 10% extra. For diagonal installations, order 15% extra. For complex herringbone or rooms with many alcoves/bay windows, order 20% extra.
How many square feet are in a box of vinyl plank flooring?
Most standard Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP) boxes contain between 18 to 24 square feet, depending on plank thickness (4mm–8mm) and wear layer.
Do I need underlayment with Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP)?
Many modern LVP and laminate planks come with attached pre-glued acoustic padding (IXPE/EVA). If your planks do not have attached backing, or if installing over a concrete slab, a separate vapor barrier or underlayment is required.
How do you calculate perimeter baseboards needed?
Baseboard linear footage is calculated as 2 × (Room Length + Room Width) minus the width of door entryways.
